Sunday vs. conditions

TEAM JO-JO:

First mate for today, (Sunday) be Big Hugh, he and me talked about making a trip to Lake P trestles to do the Lake P Troll technique / presentations Saturday, but we both felt Sunday we would have less wind to deal with, so today was our day to go.

Big Hugh texted me Saturday afternoon, what up we going, me waited to late Saturday to contact him, me wanted to check existing, & future wind predications for Sunday.

Me called him and we came up with (3) plans for Sunday. Plan “A” fish Lake P, plan “B” if Lake P no good we fish Lakeshore canal systems, plan “C” fish ICW out of Gulf Outlet Mariner in Chalmette. So now we have a go for Sunday.

Around 10:15 PM me texted Big Hugh, “You up” no response, me was going too cancelled at that time.

Up at 5 AM for our 6AM meet up, noticed Big Hugh responded “up now” so me called him, what say you say he. Say me let me check wind, he say wind prediction 10-20 mph. If that be the case say me we cancel and live to fish another day, we both agreed this ne the best plan for Sunday.

Me deiced to make a journey to Delacroix to remove water out Bay Flat Sr dry box, and run Yamaha Dream Machine for a few minutes.

Me observations of journey to Delacroix as follows:

•             Lake P

o             Wind E.N.E 2-22 mph

o             Slight to heavy chop

o             Tide slack / falling

o             had (20) boats along trestles from Northshore to draw bridge, most fishhg east side of trestles

o             Had a couple boats in mid lake along trestles

o             Captain Danny Hunter just pass Draw Bridge on east side, live scope working

•             Capt Danny said they had (2) Flounders

•             Capt Danny indicated water clarity 4 plus, you could see lure down 10-12”, not bad

•             ICW:

o             Not one boat fishing shoreline in ICW

•             Ed’s launch of Paris road:

o             Had (4) boats launched

•             Bayou Bienvenue:

o             (15) Boast launched

•             Gulf Outlet Mariner:

o             Had (10) boats launched

•             Check point Alpha

o             Water level in canal at junction Delacroix / Hopedale down 8-10”

•             Check point Bravo:

o             Water falling at Reggio canal

o             Reggio had (3) Boats launched

•             Lionel’s had no boats launched

•             Sweetwater had (12) Boats launched

Me think Big Hugh and Oneofthepack made the right decision, (to cancel out) today, we felt we did not have to go to know. Based on the fact we had (2) concerns. (1) Wind mph vs. Bay Flat Jr capabilities, and (2) water clarity, with all the high winds we been having.

Next up, Tuesday trip with Big Ronnie and his son Big Mike aboard the Bay Flat Sr, we plan to assault Delacroix and see if we can find some Silverwonders and/or Redwarroies.

Delacroix trip with the KING, Roz, & Glenn, when Delacroix was Delacroix!!!!!!!!

Until then:

Good Fishing

Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack
