·         Learn where & how Troutmaster fish trestles in Lake P

·         Fish southside of Lake P

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind was strong but did not impact our ability t cat, retrieve & feel bites, helped when we are doing Lake P Troll technique.)

2 MOVING WATER: (Coming in at first, slack, then started to fall, just like me like it)

3 WATER CALRITY: (Southside Lake P a 7, mid-lake a 6 minus, but all very fishable.)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (Test piling)

5 PATIENCES: (In honey hole at 7:15, first fish 8:10, slow bites, picked up some when we started to troll.)

6 SKILL: (Tight lining, & Lake P troll, but with 3/8 oz. jig head Big Ron, me had a ½ oz. jig head trolling about 20-25’ of trestles east side.)

7 LUCKS: (Fishing with the Troutmaster)

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived to fish another day.

·         (12) NMR Silverwonders

·         (1) Flatwonder

·         Lunch at Phill’s marine, fish not biting but Oneofthepack & Big Ron biting into our raw oyster, eggplant sticks, fried shrimp & royal reds boiled shrimp.

·         Being on the water with the best of the best fisherperson me know, that be Troutmaster Big Ron and no other

·         Lessons learned:

§  Predicted winds way off

§  Water clarity in Lake P a 7 plus

§  Troutmaster using 3/8 oz. white jig head with white looking lure, matrix shad something

§  Me could not get comfortable in 24’ boat, plus me could not get the angel on the fish me like

§  Fishing out of a 24’ boat very challenging, had to negotiate, power pole, antenna, motor,  & T-Drop when trying to  cast.

§  Caught power pole twice

§  Caught antenna 3 times

§  Caught motor 4 times

§  Me loving me Bay Flat Jr & Bay Flat Sr more, and more, plenty room to fish nothing to hang up on.

§  Trolling with Pathfinder GPS trolling motor produced (4) nice NMR Silverwonders

§  Silverwonders where why off trestle, 25-20 feet be where they be homestead.

§  Leaving me tackle box in truck a no / no, me was afraid to let lure go down to bottom did not want to hang up, did not have any replacement tackle, this decision was a bad one on my part.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Troutmaster jumped out to a 3-0 run, changing up colors every now and then, kept up his catching (3) more  as we used trolling motor to move us up and down trestles. But me think he fell a little short for honors today.

Took awhile for Oneofthepack to get on the board, caught first ne, second followed right behind, made up for lost time trolling, which brought up to total of (6). Me Flounder broke the tie, when you be fishing with Troutmaster you take the honors anyway you can get it, he be that good.

SUGGESTIONS:

Me being told by many very good fisherpersons the trout run in Lake P about to end, winding down, guess we need to turn our attention to MRGO, & ICW to catch our (NMR) Silverwonders.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"Never lie a long line when a short one will serve your purpose."

Q&A:

How do you  fish a Fat Boy lure?????? Please advise on same!

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Need to pick up Bay Flat Sr and bring in for 1,000-hour service and bring her back down to Delacroix for winter season. Need to take Bay Flat Jr out and search the MRGO & ICW and surrounding areas for the big girls. Need to get back to jerk baits, and a Lake P Troll, until then:

Good Fishing
