ICW challenge

TEAM JO-JO:

 

Another change up, Big Jimmy, me crew for today cancelled out asked that we go another day.

 

Big Rudy’s crew, (Big Ronnie) cancelled, (under weather)  out too, Big Rudy and Oneofthepack combine our journey to be able to make a full crew and have a fun day fishing aboard the Bay Flat Jr out of Bayou Bienvenue.              

 

SIGNS:                            

 

·         First mates cancel out

·         Got some current Intel / info on the Silverwonder bites

·         Dinner last night one  Gray Goose martini extra dirty w/ 3 olives

·         Could not sleep

·         Got up and watched Viking & Saint playoff 2009, me was so physicked up, biting me nails, eating everting in site, hoe the Saints did not lose, me could only relax after game over in over time, me thought for sure they were going to lose it…..again.

·         Got to bed at 3:30 AM

·         Up at 4:15 AM for our 6:30 AM meet up at our abode up Grand Champions

·         No wildlife sightings along Hwy 11 or 90, this not a good sign

·         Quick launch

·         Off to ICW to start our fun day of fishing & catching

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Had this all morning, tide & wind in opposite direction, used wind to move us up IWC along the drop offs, 30-32’ of water)

2 MOVING WATER: (Slack then started to fall, died off after a while)

3 WATER CALRITY: (A 5, brown looking water lost lure down about 6-8”)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (ICW)

5 PATIENTS: (IN honey hole at 7:50, 8:18, Big Rudy brings first Silverwonder in boat, pretty good action all morning)

·         Big Ronnie came out in his own boat, meet us in ICW, he be feeling better and did not want to expose us to whatever he had so he did a solo trip.

·         Being on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know, that b Big Rudy

·         Lessons learned:

§  Big Boy locker room un-occupied. No one home

§  Nursery in full swing, a lot of Miniwonders caught

§  Straight Oak River Troll technique worked today caught (4)t with this technique

§  Bites in 30 to 33’ of water depth

§  Throw with wind up current, bounce &  work slowly back to you was the presentation

§  Wind and tide gong in opposite directions

§  Yamaha Nightmare Machine took 9 pulls to start her, she getting better

§  Voice activated spot lock works very well

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

 

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

 

When fishing with Big Rudy this is already known before we even leave the house, Big Rudy be fisherperson of the day.

Master (ORT) & combination (ORT) / (DSR) presentation / technique, think ICW deep water.
