SIGNS:

·         Made in quick run top WH for quick  breakfast

·         Colder than me expected, did not put rain jacket on, decided to tough it out that way

·         Yamaha Nightmare Machine started with one pull, but me did not follow protocol, so me had to make (3) more pulls to get her fired up again

·         Off to ICW to start our fun day of fishing

·         Put Big Charlie on some NMR’s that he and his family cold enjoy for dinner

·         Introduce Big Charlie to Team Jo-Jo’s combine Oak River Troll / Drop shot technique

·         Try out me voice activated spot lock

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Todays wind was much better, was able to sue it to do Oak River Troll, and kept us at .65 MPH, wind and tide going in same direction too.)

2 MOVING WATER: (Slack at first then started to fall, moved the rest of the day)

3 WATER CALRITY: (A 5 sandy looking lost lure down about a foot)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (ICW caught all fish there)

5 PATIENTS: (Reached honey hole at about 7:15, 7:36 Big Charlie brought in the first (NMR) Silverwonder 12 ½ # she be, then it was slow, slow, slow.)

6 SKILL: (Oak River Troll combine with drop shot rig, and tight line drop shot caught a few too.)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:

ICW

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived to fish another day

·         (8) NMR Silverwonders

·         (1) Fresh water cat

·         Hot coffee & grits at Waffle House, we both felt we were a little early to try and go out so we made a stop at WH.

·         Got to spend some time with Big Tony, (Fishermen’s Freidan) even gave us a tour of his live bait set-up, see video for additional info.

·         Perfect day for fishing, all catching criteria was perfect

·         Nobody on board got a hook imbedded in them

·         Great snacks & drinks as provided by Big Charlie, thanks man me needed that

·         Being on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Charlie

·         Got to watch / learn from  (3) other boats work the ICW

·         Lessons learned:

§  WH going down got a bad bowl of grits, they gave us some fresh grist to replace the bad ones

§  We tried (2) types of drop shot rigs, Big Charlie had his lure tight up against his main line, mine as 6-8’ from main line, he caught 7 me caught 1, you be the judge which works best.

§  We used a different technique / presentation to fish ICW, use me voice activated spot lock to try and kept us in strike zone as we drifted over it.

§  Less wind is best

§  Talking to Big Tony, (Fishermen’s Friend) he indicated the shrimp finally left BB area, he now going to Hopedale to get shrimp.

o   This could be why the Silverwonders bites have slowed down, shrimp gone

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack lost his MOJO, Big Charlie had 5 in boat before me caught one, he caught most, biggest, brought the snacks, and he be fisherperson today.

SUGGESTIONS:

It seems the only thing Big Charlie did that me did not do, is he had his jig head tight up against main line, may be that be the secret for today.

Suggest you always have a fires mate on board, his technique / presentation may be the difference in going home skunked or with a few fish for dinner. Plus as long as he catching, me on alert and anxious to try and figure out what me doing wrong.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

“When fishing, problems come about when we try to direct the flow of the Mother Nature rather than allow it to reveal its own design. Inherent in that design is a catching for all things."

Q&A:

What current fishing / catching trend do you hope will go on for a long time?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Wednesday relaxing day, catch up day, straighten up garage day, (get rid of fishing gear, lures me not using, and rest up day get ready for Friday.

Thursday at doctor, but might make evening trip.

Friday it be Big Jimmy be first meat aboard the Bay Flat Jr, Bay Flat Sr still in shop, not a good sign this be. This is the longest me never had me boat out of service waiting for service, me understand parts are hard top find these days. Lucky me have Bay Flat Jr to fill in on the missed days of being without it.

Keep fishing & catching, until then:

Good Fishing
