Windy-Low water day- Delcroix Way

TEAM JO-JO:

Oneofthepack & first mate Big Rudy knew what the predicted winds, (NNW 15-18 mph)  where going to be for today, (Friday) along with the water level dropping 2-3 feet, and expected to have dirty water all over the place, (Team Jo-Jo zones 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5).

However, we both like a challenge so we decided to test mother nature and see what she had in store for us today.

Our first challenge was getting the Bay Flat Sr out of the slip as we did not have enough water to push her, had to raise motor and back her down to get out of slip and  the mud.

Next up me got lost going across Little Lake, (sorry me threw me GPS overboard last trip out) using our phones & Navionics we found pencil canal. Then me got lost in Oak River heading to Bay La Fourche, then the same thing happened heading to Lake Campo. Me was going to wait to Santa came to get a new GPS but have a feeling that present cannot wait.

·         Challenge all that mother nature had to offer.

·         Evaluate our kills vs. conditions.

·         See if we could MAKE it happen.

·         Bring home some fishes for FINK family.

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind a challenge, but again not, challenge was finding wind at our back where fish be biting and/or eating up)

2 MOVING WATER: (Falling all day created a lot of current lines to fish, but fish not in them)

3 WATER CALRITY: (This me my challenge for the day water clarity a 2 minus, dirty water is me kryptonite, me just lose all me confidence.)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (Spotty all over 1-2 that was it, could not find a school to set up on.)

5 PATIENCES: (IN spot at 6:41, first fish at 7:18, slow day, not much action, but we are learning every second, so no patient needed today)

6 SKILL: (Popping cork technique / presentation, need to learn from Big Rudy he be an expert on popping corks, and tight line too, he just be an expert all around.)

§  Crew working on spider canal piping rig.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack a 4-0 lead, but me was unable to keep the pace up, lead the croaker & Drum category, but all not enough for today’s honors.

Big Rudy slows out of the gate this very unusual, but once he warmed up he was on, on, on, plus catching BIG fish of the day BIG Bull Redwarrior went to his credit too. Big Rudy be fisherperson of the day today tooooooo!!!!!!!

SUGGESTIONS:

Delacroix water level low, low, low, might want to go to plan “B” this weekend.

Lake P trestles have dirty water too, south side a 2 mins, north side a 2 plus, once aga bid you might want to go to plan “B”. Plus, me guess there will 30-40 boats along trestles this weekend.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

“When you be fishing, you’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.”

Q&A:

Which charter captain can you relate to the most?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Dirty water cancelled Saturday & Sunday crew, might be install windshield and new GPS time, until then:

Good Fishing
