Wind chant

⚓️ "Wind, Wind, Go Away..." – The Fisherman's Lament ⚓️By Oneofthepack

Wind, wind, go away,Come again some other day.You howl like a ghost through cypress and pine,Turnin’ glassy bays into a frothy brine.Blowin’ from the east, churnin’ from the west,Tearin’ through the marsh, givin’ no rest. From the north, you bite; from the south, you sigh—But all me wants is a calm, still sky.

Just hush now, breeze, let the lilies lay flat,Let Bay Flat Sr glide where Silverwonders at.Me poles are ready, lines all tied,But you stir up waves too mean to ride.Just drop that bluster, turn down your tune,Give me dead calm from dawn to noon.

🎣Fishes in, fishes out,Castin’ hope, twistin’ doubt.Tight lines dream of a rod-bendin’ fight,Where tails slap water in the morning light.Give me that thump, that tell-tale tug,That makes me heart leap like a Cajun two-step rug.

Me learn what me can, me share what me know,From Delacroix to the Trestles where them Silverwonders go.Tripless days? They hurt the soul.Catchless mornings? Take their toll. But each blank trip be part of the game—Still better than workin’, all the same.

So wind, wind, go away,Take your gusts and make ‘em stray.Let the Bay lay flat, let the tides stay right,Let the sun kiss the water in that early morn light.Let Big Rudy holler, "Fish on!" with pride,As we reel ‘em in side by side.

Until that day—me chant, me plea,For the wind to set us catchers free.No whitecaps, no rollin’ sea,Just slick calm for Team Jo-Jo and me.

Good Fishing
