Team Jo-Jo's Big Pablo journey to Bayou Bienvenu

Fishing Report: Big Pablo’s Solo Success!

Team Jo-Jo Update:

Big Pablo set out solo from Southshore Marine, determined to make the most of a windy day. Despite plan “A” being cut short by the rough waves in Lake B, he shifted to plan “B”—a strategic move to the swedge gate lock in Bayou Bienvenue. It’s always good to have a backup!

Big Pablo’s Catch:

  • (8) NMR Silverwonders

  • (6) Redwarriors

  • (7) Drums (with (3) Mini-drummers adding to the tally)

Conditions:

  • Tide was falling, keeping fish active

  • Windy, but manageable by sticking to sheltered areas

Strategy:

  • Positioned along the grass line and on the lee side of land to find calm waters

  • Focused on the 10-foot drop-off edge where fish tend to gather during a falling tide

Technique & Presentation:

  • Started with a popping cork and live shrimp—good for exploring the area

  • Shifted to a Carolina rig, tight line, with live shrimp once he found the fish

  • Bingo! The action was non-stop, proving the effectiveness of the setup

There’s nothing like the thrill of a well-executed plan! Whether it’s solo or with the crew, Team Jo-Jo is always about enjoying each moment on the water, and today was no exception for Big Pablo.

Good Fishing!
