TEAM JO-JO:
🎣 I could feel it coming... there was a fishing trip in my near future! 🎣
After all the excitement, energy, and fish talk at our Team Jo-Jo Fishing Curriculum session this past Saturday, I knew it wouldn't be long before the water called my name. You just can’t sit around talking about fishing, catching, tackle, trips, intel, and tips without the urge rising up strong and steady—it gets in your veins and pulls you to the launch!
We had a great turnout, and I’m thrilled to report that eight new first mates officially signed up for future trips. That’s right—(8) eager, willing, and ready-to-roll new crew members, all wanting their shot at the Silverwonders and Redwarriors out in our favorite honey holes. Now the challenge: fitting them all in over this month and next. Not a bad problem to have—fishing is never the issue… but as always, catching might be another story. 🎯
And speaking of crew members…
💥**Big Don made his move!**💥He reached out with a gentle nudge: “Don’t forget about me,” he said—been sitting on the (IR) – Injured Reserve—watching all the action, patiently waiting for the green light. So what did I do? Hit him with a 5 AM text at The Pointe on Sunday, just to test the waters.
His reply?👍 Thumbs up, loud and clear. No hesitation. Just like that, first mate secured, trip in the books, and off we went—mission engaged.
Whether it's calm waters or battling breezes, bait thievery or full stringers, the Bay Flat Sr. is rolling again with purpose. The fish may not always cooperate, but Team Jo-Jo’s spirit never falters.
Stay tuned—more trips, more tales, more Team Jo-Jo adventures coming your way soon!Tight lines and good times ahead! 🐟⚓🍀

· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind was perfect, not a factor today, it even kept us cool for a while.5:50 AM
2 MOVING WATER: (Tide coming in strong, had our lies way away from , (west) trestles as we strolled.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (it was a 7 plus by 6:30 it was a 3 plus, don’t know why it went so dirty in a brief period, but bites where just about over after this. Water in mid lake was a 7 plus, but no fish))
4 HOLDING FISH: (1/2 mile before mile north of marker 174 west side of trestles, trolled back and forth for a block & half.)
5 PATIENCES: (Dropped rigs at 5:45, 5:49 first NMR in box, after that it was on, on, on, all the way to 6:30 AM then it slowed down big time, had to troll for them)
6 SKILL: (Lake P Troll technique / presentation, boat speed, angle to trestles, adequate line let out to get close to bottom, believing)
7 LUCKS: (Fell right on top of them, had our crazy 15 minute early, in by 9:55, beat the heat.)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:
Testles, north of mile marker 174, west side of trestles.
OUR REWARDS:
· Lived too fish another day.
· (31) NMR Silverwonders
· (4) Double hook ups, all fish made it into the box
· (1) Tripple hooks up, one on jig , one on top trailer and one on bottom trailer, got all 3 in the box, what a treat
· Big Don missed 4 plus, his knots kept coming undone.
· Lost 2 in the Yamaha Nightmare Machine Prop
· Lost 3-4 Lake P Troll rigs.
· Caught bottom 2-3 times, and pilings once.
· Big Don almost pulled an Indiana Ron stunt, as he fell off the ice chest and hit the side of the Bay Flat Jr, which kept him in the boat, Big Ron was not so lucky when he rolled off the ice chest.
· Bid Don had a gator aid for me along with some sausage to eat, boy me needed that for sure.
· Being on the water with one of the best fisherpersons me know is Big Don.
· Lessons learned:
§ Major feed time today was 09:46, by 6:40 we had (21) Silverwonders, so much for trying to plan around predicted feed times.
§ Bites early we are trolling by 5:45, 5:49 first NMR on board, from then on it was on, on, all the way to 7 AM
§ My strategy is early start and fish into bites.
§ 5:45 water clarity was a 7 plus, by 6:45 it was a 3 plus got very sandy looking.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Oneofthepack was on a roll, or a TROLL as me had (2) Double hook ups, and even had a triple hook up, one NMR Silverwonders on each lure, jig head, trailer # 1 & Trailer # 2, got all three in box did I, but me efforts paled to Big Don’s input.
Big Don missed more fish than me caught, if me guessed he missed 6-8 NMR Silverwonders, (4) knots came untied, (2) hooked up in motor, 3-4 doubles lost extra fish, he was on a bigger roll and /or TROLL then me. Big Don fisherperson of the day for sure.
SUGGESTIONS:
Get an early start , (before daylight) for 3 reasons, reason 1 get the best spot, reason 2 catch the best clarity water before it gets dirty, 3 catch the crazy 15 minutes of bites before they stop biting.
Utilize Lake P Troll technique, you can cover more area and find the schools a lot faster!!!!
PONDER OF THE DAY:
If fishing is interfering with your business, give up your business.
Q&A:
Who wants to sign up for a fishing trip with Team Jo-Jo, (Cost hand shake & a smile, due weather we catch or not!!) come to our next Team Jo-Jo Fishing Curriculum Session and get on our list of volunteered first mates for a trip to Delacroix and/or Lake P?????
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
Tuesday trip to Lake P , Big Rudy back from vacation looking to go, until then:
Good Fishing
