Silverwonder slam Delacroix

Team Jo-Jo Update:

This past Tuesday, Big Ronnie, taking charge as captain for the day, and trusty first mate Big Rudy set off to one of our all-time favorite fishing spots—Delacroix Island, affectionately known as our “Disney World” of fishing. Once again, I, Oneofthepack, was still feeling under the weather and couldn’t join the crew, but the show must go on, and Team Jo-Jo did not disappoint. The trip turned into a banner day on the water, as the dynamic duo put their skills to work in a big way.

The Catch:

  • (86) Silverwonders – An absolutely incredible haul! These Silverwonders were clearly in abundance, and Big Ronnie and Big Rudy wasted no time in making the most of it. With nearly 90 Silverwonders in the boat, this was one of the most productive days in recent memory.

  • (56) Miniwonders – In addition to the big haul of Silverwonders, they also brought in 56 Miniwonders. While these smaller fish might not make the highlight reel, they sure do add to the fun, keeping the rods bent and the action steady throughout the day.

  •

Techniques and Presentations:

  • Tight line: This method once again proved to be a reliable tactic, especially in the deeper waters. With a solid feel for the bite and keeping the lure close to the bottom, it was a consistent producer. Tight lining was responsible for a good portion of the day’s Silverwonder haul, helping Big Ronnie and Big Rudy bring in catch after catch.

  • Popping cork: When it came to targeting fish near the surface, the popping cork technique was on point. This method is always a crowd-pleaser and particularly effective in the conditions at Delacroix. The popping cork not only brought in several Silverwonders but also added a fun visual element to the day, as watching the corks go under is always a thrill.

The Day’s Success: The success of this trip speaks to the value of using the right techniques at the right time. Both the tight line and popping cork presentations played key roles in making this day such a success. It's not just about luck—it’s about the experience and skill that Big Ronnie and Big Rudy have honed over countless trips to Delacroix and beyond. And while I couldn’t be there to share in the excitement this time, I’m proud to see Team Jo-Jo continuing to pull in impressive numbers and keep the momentum going.

Looking Ahead: Though it’s disappointing to miss out on another trip, I’m confident there will be many more adventures ahead for Team Jo-Jo. As always, we’ll be ready to hit the water again soon, hopefully with me back on board. But for now, I tip my hat to Big Ronnie and Big Rudy for an exceptional day at Delacroix—proving once again why it’s our "Disney World" of fishing.

Good Fishing,

Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack
