TEAM JO-JO:
Sr. first mate Big Don has been off the water for a while, so I wanted to make a trip with him to get him back outdoors and on the water. We chose today, May 21, 2024, for our adventure. Knowing that a successful day of fishing often requires a bit of extra help, I decided to enlist some backup. At our Team Jo-Jo meeting last Saturday, I asked Big Rudy if he would like to join us. His response was enthusiastic, like a Silverwonders attacking a Salt Strong Power Prawn.
With both a first mate and a second mate on board, we set out for our favorite fishing spot, our own version of Disney World, known as Delacroix Island. The weather was perfect, and the excitement was palpable as we navigated the waters in search of the elusive Silverwonders and Redwarriors. Having Big Don back on the boat and Big Rudy’s experienced presence made the trip even more special. We explored various spots, shared stories, and enjoyed the thrill of the catch, relishing the beauty and serenity of Delacroix Island.

2 MOVING WATER: (Coming in all day, we had some great current lines to set up on, did not move as hard as me thought it would be.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (Varied, some spots a 3 minus, others in the 6 to 6 plus, we concentrated on areas that were 6 plus.)
4 HOLDING FISH: (spot 5,6, 14, & 15)
5 PATIENTS: (In spot # 21 and set up at 6:28, we moved some, did not catch a fish until 7:33, but once we figured them out it was on, on, on,)
6 SKILL: (At first tight lining, then Oak River Troll technique / presentation

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Big Don was on a roll, caught flounder, Redwarrior, had his share of the Silverwonders, (both dinks & NMR’s) and even caught the extra poles a couple two times. However, his slow start getting out of the gate may have damaged his chances ta the honors to day, and it did)
Oneofthepack was filming , netting, and catching a few, me as having so much fun just watch Big don & Big Rudy attach the Silverwonders.
Big Rudy was into , tried corks, different color / shape lures, even used the tandem rigs, he was searching for the best technique / presentation needed for today’s catch, Flounder, Redwarrior, many dinks & NMRs did he catch. He had a hot pole all day, he be fisherperson of the day for today.
SUGGESTIONS:
Learn the art of the Oak River Troll technique / presentation, (T/P) add this to your inventory (T/Ps) use it when tide is slack and/or wind too strong to set up on your honey hole. This technique is one of Team Jo-Jo’s favorite one to catch on some days / conditions.
If you would like a narrative on how to Oak River Troll, email me stanleyfink@charter.net and we will send too you.
I think we will go over the technique at our next Team Jo-Jo Fishing Session in June.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
The catching world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.
Q&A:
Which charter captain can you relate to the most?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Good Fishing
