Right launch vs. Fihisng Area

🚤🎣 Team Jo-Jo Launch Logic 101 – The Oneofthepack Way 🌅🐟

Crew,

When it comes to picking a launch spot, I always aim to minimize the boat run, especially across open water—saves time, fuel, wear, and tear, and keeps us closer to the action. Below is the Oneofthepack preferred launch strategy based on target areas:

🔶 Bayou Bienvenue, The Wall, The Castle, Chef Area:

  • Bayou Bienvenue Launch – ✅ Direct access but beware: Locks can be unpredictable and sometimes not open.

  • Southshore Marina – ✅ Safe bet: No lock concerns. Smooth and efficient access.

🔷 ICW, South Shore Lake C, Lake Borgne, SE Corner of Lake P:

  • Southshore Marina

  • Island Marina

Great options for targeting productive saltwater edges and tidal rips.

🔶 ICW, Rigolets, North Lake C, NE Lake P, Lake Borgne, Pearl River:

  • Rigolets Marina – ✅ Centrally located for quick access to these areas and marsh systems. Fuel, ice, and bait all available.

🔷 South Side Lake P – Shoreline Rocks, Twin Span, Hwy 11 Bridge, Trestles:

  • Launch on Hwy 11 (Southside), between bridges near the Casino – ⛽️ Local, efficient, puts you right in the game.

🔶 North Shore – Lake P, Lakeshore Estates Canal System, Treasure Island, Hwy 11 Bridge, Trestles:

  • The Point Marina (off Rat Nest Road, Slidell) – ✅ Launches you straight into Silverwonder central.

Great for days you want to zig-zag the trestles or prowl the canal systems.

🔷 North Shore Shoreline, Bayou Lacombe, Bayou Bonfouca, Bayou Bogaflya:

  • Heritage Park Launch

  • Foggy Water Marina

Perfect for protected waters, calm days, and marsh edge missions.

🔶 Bayou Lacombe Beach, Scenic Runs, and Crabbing Sightseeing:

  • Lake Road Boat Launch – ✅ Highly recommended if you've never driven down Lake Road.

🌅 It’s a beautiful scenic drive with plenty of folks crabbing along the shoulders—well worth a look-see trip even if you're not launching.

🎯 Strategy Recap:

Always pick your launch based on the zone you're fishing. It saves time, reduces stress, and helps avoid battling open water unnecessarily. That’s the Oneofthepack Strategy aboard Bay Flat Jr & Sr—get to the fish efficiently, fish longer, and enjoy the journey!

Good Fishing,

🎣 Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack 🌊
