Team Jo-Jo Fishing Report

This past Friday we had multiple crews from Team Jo-Jo heading out, but out of three boats planned, only one crew braved it long enough to make some catching happen.

Journey One – Oneofthepack, Big Jeff & Big AllenWe were all set for our trip to our Disney World known as Delacroix Island. But Oneofthepack wasn’t getting good signs for the trip, so I called the crew late Thursday night and pulled the plug. Suggested we hold off for cooler times—sometimes you’ve got to listen to your gut.

Journey Two – Big Rudy & Big TonyThey launched in the Madisonville area, made a run toward the mouth of the Tchefuncte River and Lake P. Soon as they hit 3-footers with whitecaps, it didn’t take long for Big Rudy to say, “We live to fish another day,” and turned it back around. Smart move, no need to fight Mother Nature.

Journey Three – Big Pablo & Big Adrain (son)This was the crew that got it done. They ran to Lake B and fished along the rocks. Started at Big Pablo’s double top-secret spot—put 3 fish in the boat. Moved to another double top-secret spot and added 5 more, finishing their limit early. Pablo had to head back early for work, but not before putting together a solid box of Redwarriors.

·         Area fished: Rocks in Lake B

·         Bait: Live shrimp, cut-up ladyfish (Big Pablo’s new go-to for Redwarriors), topwater baits, and popping cork lures

·         Catch: 3 Redwarriors on topwater, 3 on ladyfish chunks, 2 on corks

·         Back at the launch by 7:45 AM – early bird gets the worm!

Fishermen of the Day: Big Pablo & Big Adrain – they accepted all the challenges Mother Nature threw at them and came back with their quest of Redwarriors complete.
