NMR's MRGO run

TEAM JO-JO:

Indiana Ron is back from Houston, fired up, and itching to get back on the water! We had this trip locked in last week for today (Wednesday), and now it’s time to make it happen. Both of us are hot to trot, ready to chase down the BIG girls lurking along the MRGO rock wall. The plan? Tease them with our best jerk baits, the kind they just can’t resist—that perfect twitch, pause, and boom!

For this trip, we’re rolling in style aboard Indiana Ron’s bass boat, the Gloria Marie—a battle-tested fishing machine with a long history on the water. She’s powered by a 60 HP black Mercury, and now she’s got a fresh set of upgrades: a brand-new 12” GPS to keep us dialed in on the best spots, plus a new GPS trolling motor for pinpoint positioning along the rocks. This setup is decked out and ready to roll—nothing but pure fishing efficiency.

Now, it’s just a matter of getting on the water and seeing if those MRGO giants are in the mood to play. Conditions look solid, rods are rigged, and the anticipation is through the roof. Time to find out if the BIG girls are home and hungry!

·         (14) Silverwonders, 4 close Miniwonders

·         (1) Bull Redwarrior

·         (2) NMR missed reeling in

·         Gloria’s best peanut butter & pineapple jelly sandwich, me been missing them thanks lady me needed that.

·         On the water with one of the best captains & fisherpersons me know that be Big Ron.

·         Lessons learned:

§  Gloria Marie a fine craft

§  Big Girls wanted to play.

§  Bites early then they over as quickly as they started

§  Indiana Ron showed me the holes he was talking about in the MRGO, on his GPS you can see the grade it drops in the middle of the MRGO, you can find and fish the ledges as it descends below the bottom of the MRGO.

§  Indiana Ron also showed  me how the fish finder works, me just had two questions:

·         How do you know that is a fish?

·         What kind of fish are they?

·         Had to remind him me was from Missouri.

·         We agreed to disagree.

§  Water clarity as same as Tuesday trip

§  Bites & fish action same as Tuesday.

§  Glorias Marine a lot faster than the Bay Flat Jr

§  Indiana Ron’s version of a trolling rig, see video for info / intel on it

§  Indiana Ron’s milk runs the same as Oneofthepack.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack was just Oneofthepack 1 Silverwonder, missed one reeling in and caught the BULL for the day, that was it, and those efforts fell way short for honors today.

Indian Ron was on from the first and never let up, he had me 6 to 0 before me caught a fish, and he even had a new troll technique that produced some good results, Big Ron be fisherperson of the day for sure.

SUGGESTIONS:

Get an early start, and  break out your trolling gear, as it might be the only way to get them to bite and catch a few.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"It is you and clean, flowing water. It is fisherperson, inquisitive, in a wild world that is older than fisherpersons, seeking greater understanding and finding not only an endless interest but a tranquility that comes, most of the time, to all Silverwonders wild fisherpersons."

Q&A:

What are your favorite and least favorite fishing chores?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Hooking up with Big Rudy Saturday, destination unknown at this time will decide Friday on where we will go, but Delacroix is looking like a good choice, until the:
