·      ONEOFTHEPACK’S REPERTOIRE OF TECHNIQUES / STRATEGIES

·         Be safe.

·         Have fun.

·         This is my daily therapy for ALL of my aliments.

·         Put some running time on the Bay Flat Jr and the Yamaha Nightmare Machine

·         Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on Facebook) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders.

·         Catch what catch can.

·         Learn what learn can.

·         See if the NMR Silverwonders were still around and wanted to play.

·         See if jerk baits still the lure of the day.

·         Try some more various jerk baits, slow sinkers / fast sinkers, colors.

·         Bring some fish home for the Fink family.

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind was perfect help us move along rocks, and at times directly to rocks helping us cast. We even had periods with no wind at times, but later in day it blew fairly good.)

2 MOVING WATER: (Falling all day, hard to tell in open MRGO water way, but it was pouring through locks on way out and on way in)

3 WATER CALRITY: (A 6 minus, sandy looking, you could see way down, but it was like looking through a glass full of sand.)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (MRGO rocks, at first tight to rocks, later we are about 30-40 feet off rock using fast sinker jerk baits, that seem what they want.)

5 PATIENCES: (3rd cast Big Rudy brought in the NMR BIG Girl, lots of action missed  1 at boat, missed 4 strikes,  and popped 2 lines on bottom. It was a slow day, and took some patients, but that is our specialty)

6 SKILL: (Jerk bait technique / presentation)

7 LUCKS: (Choosing to get an early start and leaving before daylight, put us in the honey hole at the best time.)

OUR REWARDS:

·         Live to fish another day.

·         (8) NMR Silverwonders

·         (Redwarrior slot size

·         (1) NMR missed at boat

·         (2) got off reeling

·         (4) Missed strike

·         (2) Popped lines

·         Lots of action

·         Being on the water with one of the best fisherpersons me know that be Big Rudy

·         Early, quick, easy , relaxing trip aboard the Bay Flat Jr

·         Lessons learned:

§  Need early start we left dock in dark, arrived at honey hole perfect timing got to see sun break horizon.

§  Big Girls still there

§  Later in the day we need a jerk bait that sinks faster and goes deep, we had Mirror lures for that.

§  Bite late in the morning just had to have some patients and keep at it.

§  No fishing honey holes south of hot spot.

§  On Saturday you have more boats active.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack struggled all morning, it took hour before we got me first Silverwonder then only managed 2 more for the day, missed 2 reeling in , and missed one strike. Me did not figure them out to after 11 AM, not enough effort for honors today.

Big Rudy 3rd cast BIG girl, then he was steady Eddie for a while, dominated Redwarrior division, lead in NMR category, and all this while fighting the trolling motor to keep u sin strike zone, plus he even had a snickers bar or two for me, Big Rudy be fisherperson of the day for sure.

SUGGESTIONS:

Getting an early start has both suspending jerk baits, and faster sinking jerk baits, (Mirror lure makes them) as for colors, pink backs, bright yellow bottoms, light green bodies, and me was using brown/orange red body. Use the color you have the most confidence in.

You might want to have (3) of each suspending / fast sinker on your box, cause you will hang up, hate to only have none and the big girls out there hungry and you don’t have the right lure.

Me just bought $70 of jerk baits, suspending and deep divers.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"Sell a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish, you ruin a wonderful business opportunity.”

Q&A:

If a compulsive fisherperson liar tells you him is a compulsive liar do you believe him?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

The only plan is to pick up Bay Flat Sr and bring back to Cypress Cove, it seems they forgot to check and see if you could shift throttle, it takes a lot of strength , (something not right)to shift it. To my surprise a friend brought his in (another boat dealer) and he got his back the same way, he too had to bring it back in.

Me sure Bay Flat Jr will be back in action soon, got to get them BIG girls while they still around, until then:

Good Fishing
