(LSE) fishing journey

TEAM JO-JO:

Crew today , (Friday 12-20-24) be first mate Big Rudy, he and Oneofthepack where going to try Lakeshore Estates canal , (LSE)systems instead of running out to trestles. We did not want to have to deal with the crowds, but the wind had a lot of fisherpersons in and about (LSE) we saw 13 boats in systems.

SIGNS:

·         Good night sleep

·         Up at 4:45 AM for our 6 AM meet up at The Pointe

·         Made a stop for some go juice for the Yamaha Nightmare Machine

·         Saw a bunny rabbit along Oak Harbor Blvd, this be a good sign

·         As me driving down Rats Nest Road saw another bunny rabbit, check out video got her crossing road, did hot hit her.

·         They did not have that many boats launched, guess wind kept them away

·         Big Rudy backed Bay Flat Jr down in water

·         Yamaha Nightmare Machine only took 1 pull to start her, that makes 3 good signs for this day, expectations high in the catching department

·         Off to Lakeshore Estates (LSE) to start our fun day of fishing.

·      ONEOFTHEPACK’S REPERTOIRE OF TECHNIQUES / STRATEGIES

·         Be safe.

·         Have fun.

·         This is me daily therapy for ALL me aliments.

·         Put some run time on the Bay Flat Jr and the Yamaha Nightmare Machine

·         Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on Facebook) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders.

·         Catch what catch can.

·         Learn what learn can.

·         Plan “A” Top Dog (LSE) canal systems

·         Plan “B” Lake P Troll technique (LSE) & Eden Ilse canal systems

·         Plan “C” tight line all areas

·         Catch fish, bug Big Rudy nor Oneofthepack wanted to keep any, we threw back the first one, keep Flounders & a few Silverwonders for Big Pablo

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Very windy no impact on us we be trolling, but Lake P was rough had plenty boat in canal system seeking refuge)

2 MOVING WATER: (It seem to be falling, hard to tell with all that wind)

3 WATER CALRITY: (6 plus looked a Littell off browner then anything)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (Eden Isle canal )

5 PATIENCES: (Second blow up on Top Dog, missed a little bass reeling in, Big Rudy followed up with a 1 ½# bass, then long slack period to we hit Eden Isle canal we had some action)

6 SKILL: (Top dogging, Lake P Troll, tight lining, took all 3)

7 LUCKS: (Not running over bunny rabbits, this would have ruined me day for sure.)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived to fish another day.

·         (6) Silverwonders, 1 Miniwonder

·         (1) Ratwarrior

·         (3) White wonders

·         (2) Flounders

·         (1) Catfish

·         (1) Tarpon, check out picture, is that a Tarpon or what!!!!!!!!

·         Being on the water with one of the best fisherpersons me know that be Big Rudy, he is a catching machine for sure.

·         Lessons learned:

§  New areas to troll when lake to rough

§  To cold to fish top dogs

§  Need to plan  next trip to ICW!

§  Fish deeper than normal.

§  (LSE) holding juvenile Tarpon.

§  All (3) bodies of (LSE) hold Silverwonders.

§  Need depth finder to fish (LSE) but me left mind home.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Me going to take this, (me lucky day)  not often me have a chance to gather in Fisherperson of the day fishing with Big Rudy, me lead the catfish division, Whitewonder category, dominated Tarpon  & Redwarrior catching, and had me share of Silverwonders.

Big Rudy struggled with the Lake P Troll technique, had more hang ups, and tangled lines then normal, but he managed to bring some Silverwonders & Flounder.

SUGGESTIONS:

Canal systems perfect place to practice & perfect your Lake P Troll technique skills, troll around all the edges for the deep water.

Might want to throw Top Dogs early in AM.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

Do not wait for the perfect time and place to fish, for you are already onstage.

Q&A:

What is your technique / presentation  for Top Dogging?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Monday journey with Big Matthew, (newcomer) first time out with Team Jo-Jo, we will be out and about in Bay Flat Sr in search of the elusive Silverwonders, & Redwarriors, Big Rudy will be our first mate, until then:

Good Fishing
