Lake P Trolling lots of catching & fun

TEAM JO-JO:

🎣 Team Jo-Jo Midweek Maneuvers – Wednesday Fishing Intel 🎣So, it went down like this…

Tuesday’s mission to Delacroix aboard the trusty Bay Flat Sr saw Big Ronnie (aka Indian Ron) and Oneofthepack suiting up and heading out solo, as our go-to first mate Big Rudy had to bow out. Life happens, but the fish still call!

Now, just ‘cause Big Rudy missed the Tuesday run didn’t mean he was gonna sit out the week. Oh no—Team Jo-Jo don’t roll like that.

So, a backup plan was hatched faster than a shrimp boil in Chalmette.Destination: Lake PontchartrainTarget: Big girls (aka the slab-sided Silverwonders)Boat of choice: The sleek and scrappy Bay Flat JrMission: Convince some big girls to come out and play… maybe even join us later for a dinner date with lemon butter and a side of hush puppies.

Wednesday was shaping up to be the perfect follow-up. Winds looked like they might take a breather, and Lake P’s trestles were whispering promises of action beneath their rusty rails. Armed with experience, tackle, and good ol’ Team Jo-Jo determination, the plan was to hit the water early, troll the tracks, and see who bites.

Could this be the trip where the Lake P Legends return?Only time, tides, and trolling passes will tell.

Stay tuned as we line up, cast out, and see what Lake P’s got hiding in the shadows.

·         (1) Submarine big ass Drum

·         (1) Flounder

·         (1) Croaker

·         (1) big shad

·         Lost 9 Lake P trolling rigs:

o   (5) Dancing with the pilings playing Russian roulette

o   (4) Dancing with the BIG girls

·         Lots of action had

·         Being on the water with the best, (The Goat) fisherperson me know Big Rudy be he

·         Got me snicker bars for energy to reel the big girls in.

·         Had a third trailer today, Big Ron , (aka Indian Ron)  was out and about abord the Gloria Marie, (his bay boat) trolling Lake P too.

·         Lessons learned:

§  Dirty water in lake p, not the same as Delacroix, results. (i.e. catching)  a lot better in Lake P

§  Me think falling tide best for trolling, washes you up against pilings where you can play Russian roulette with them

§  The technique was strange today, just letting line roll with twitches and / or jerks seem to work well .

§  Purple color squid caught one NMR today,

§  Persistence / perseverance paid off today,

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Today was a Big Rudy day for sure, dominated drum division, Silverwonder category, and even provided some extra snickers bar, he be fisherperson of the day for sure he be.

SUGGESTIONS:

If all you have is fishing trips, without catching, strongly suggest you bring Big Rudy with you.

Suggest you make a trip to Gus net & tackle on Hwy 433, pick up some ¾ oz jig heads, and some orange w/flakes, & green w/flaks squids, along with some # 4 red trouble hooks to make your own lake P troll rig.

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"The fish always sees the bait, never the hook." -

Q&A:

If you could only use one lure for the rest of your life, what would it be?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Back at the with Big Ronnie, (aka Indian Ron) hope to catch a few for petite Gloria, until then:

Good Fishing
