TEAM JO-JO:
First mate Big Rudy & Oneofthepack was on a mission today, (Monday 2-19-24) we needed some fish for Monday night card game fish fry, so he & me teamed up and boarded Bay Flat Jr for a trip to the ICW to see if we could catch enough to feed all card players.
We have been having some success using the Lake P Troll technique / presentation, so this was our game plan for today. To just stay with this until we made it happen.
SIGNS:
· Very relaxing weekend, caught up on some lost sleep
· Re-worked all me Lake P trolling rigs, made ready for next trip
· Swapped out me broken Shimano Bantam left handed bait caster, need to bring to Big Gus and let them take a look see at it, and see if they can fix
· Fabricated (8) trailer rigs, wrapped in paper towel, and stored in sandwich bag, makes it real easy to replace ones in field, only one knot needed instead of (4) of them
· Up at 4:30 AM for our 5:30 AM meet up at Waffle House in Oak Harbor
· Big Rudy waiting for me, quick transfer of gear and we on our way
· No wildlife sightings along Hwy 11 or 90
· Stopped at gas station at Gulf Outlet for go juice, they had none???????????
· Only had (8) gallons on board felt me needed more, went to Rack Track they only had 3 stalls open, looked like fuel in St Bernard was scarce
· Yamaha Nightmare Machine took 1 pull to start, ow that be a sign
· Back to launch, made it to our honey hole at 7:15 am, about 30 minutes late
· First Silverwonder 7:26 AM
CONDITIONS:
· P effect
· Wind, N.N.E. 14-16, N.E. 10-12, N.E. 6-8. N.N.W. 3-4 mph

· Have fun
· This be me daily therapy for ALL me aliments
· Put some run time on the Bay Flat Jr and the Yamaha Nightmare Machine
· Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on Facebook) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders.
· Catch what catch can
· Learn what learn can
· Bring home dinner for card players
· Try to have a repeat trip like our Friday trip
· See is Silverwonders wanted to come out and play dodge Lake P Troll rig
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Perfect it be, not enough to impact our ability to do Lake P Troll technique)
2 MOVING WATER: (Falling all day, never did come in, it was supposed to change around 9:30. But never did, just kept falling all day at a good pace, me think the criteria was our challenge for today)
3 WATER CALRITY: (6 minus, me think industrial canal locks introducing river water into ICW)
4 HOLDING FISH: (ICW rocks)
5 PATIENTS: (Took 11 minutes for our first fish, then it was a very slow action day, had enough to keep us interested)
6 SKILL: (Lake P Troll & dodging mind field of hang ups on bottom)
7 LUCK: (Caught enough food to feed card crew)

· Great snacks & drink as provide by I Rudy, thanks man me needed hat
· Lots of fresh cool. low humidity air in our lungs
· Being on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Rudy
· Lessons learned:
§ Always keep me gloves in dry bag, me hands where real cold today in AM
§ Buy gas Bay Flat Jr night before, station at Gulf Outlet was out of gas, Race Track only had 3 stalls working, don’t know if there was a gas shortage or what.
§ It seemed the majority of our catch was done while we trolled with current / falling tide. When we turned and trolled up current not much action at all
§ Hot pink trailer was lure of the day
§ Drop shot produced nothing today
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Me caught the biggest & smallest Silverwonder, lead in Flounder & Stripe bass division, but when it came to Silverwonders Big Rudy was the man.
Couple above along with that of he brought snacks, and the fact he be out fishing me with me on Lake P Troll technique, it all adds up to the realty that Big Rudy be fisherperson of the day.
Big T-Doc and his crew Big Pablo & Big Adrian where out and about on, There creel, (14) Silverwonders, (3) Redwarroies, and (2) Stripe Bass, they too had a great trip in ICW, and Lake Borgne shoreline.
SUGGESTIONS:
Big Tony, (Of Fishermen’s Friend) indicated he was surprised that we still caching Silverwodners, he thought it would be over until April when they would come back, I guess he be basing that in the fact that the shrimp have left the Bayou Bienvenue area, and they a hard to find in Hopedale & Delacroix areas too.
Strike while the iron is hot, get them while the getting is good, never leave fish it find fish, and all the other good myths / sayings that are out there.
“You got to go to know”
PONDER OF THE DAY:
"There is certainly something in fishing Silverwonders that tends to produce a gentleness of spirit and a pure sincerity / guilelessness of mind."
Q&A:
What technique / presentation that all your fisherperson friends agree on?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
My heart & soul wanted to go today, but me body was sending out a very different message, so decided to take day off and regenerate today.
Wednesday Big Charlie will be aboard the Bay Flat Jr as he and me search for the elusive Silverwonders in ICW<
Good Fishing
