TEAM JO-JO:
Late Tuesday the start of the day in lake P.
We have been seeing posts on FB of the BIG girls playing around out by the trestles in Lake P, and at our Team Jo-Jo Fishing Curriculum Session Saturday we be talking about them and it should be about time for the big girls to show up. me says the Loons need to show up first.
On our fishing trip Monday down to Delacroix, started getting emails of BIG girls being caught at trestles. Big Rudy & Oneofthepack getting all physicked up about the possibility of the Lake P Troll technique / presentations working along the trestles.
AT our Monday night card game, (me no fish this time) Big Rudy & I said let’s go tomorrow, seems we had a window of opportunity where the wind might not be that bad, and we can make our way in in Bay Flat Jr. safely.
SIGNS:
· Me no fish Monday night card game, got $ to buy lures, we had (9) players.
· Picked up me windshield for Bay Flat Sr now all me need to do is install it.
· Late night breakfast after game at Waffle House
· Good night sleep, as we had late start meet up for 10:00 Am at The Pointe
· Getting Bay Flat Jr. set up, loading gear was not going to smooth, this usually a bad sign for start of trip.
· Yamaha Nightmare Machine started on 2nd pull this be a good sign.
· Big Rudy a few minutes late
· When he got there me was concerned about the winds, higher than we expected, and N.W. 10 plus mph.
· We talked about go or no go, me was trying to lead the decision to a no go, but me says to Big Rudy, you make the call, lets go, so go we go.
· Rough ride out 1 to 1 ½’ swells
· But after only a 8 minute troll and the Flounder came in the boat, me knew Big Rudy made the right call.
· We had all the trestles to ourselves.

· See if LOONS showed up. Must need to find Silverwonders.
· See if Lake P Troll technique / presentations would be applicable for catching!
· Big home fishes for Petite Yana
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Strong west wind, kept pushing Bay Flat Jr into trestles made it real hard to fight fish and not hit trestles, so we had to do teamwork, me would hook them up and give to Big Rudy for him to reel them in.)
2 MOVING WATER: (Strong falling tide helped push us into trestles too, our wind & tide conditions were not eh best to do Lake P Troll on west side of trestles, but we managed a lost 5-6 Lake P Troll rigs in the process.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (7 plus, perfect it be, very lite green water)
4 HOLDING FISH: (FB2 to FB 5, loons were working that area heavy, outside past drawbridge we caught few, but Loons not that far out)
5 PATIENCES: (Rigs in water at 10:50, 10:58 Flounder hooked up, it was not a slam by any means but we had some action, plus we where learning and trying to figure out how to stop fish from hanging us up in pilings, as the wind & tide was pushing Bay Flat Jr. rigs & fish into trestles.)
6 SKILL: (Lake P Troll technique / presentation)
7 LUCKS: (Survived the west winds and hard falling tides along the trestles.)
· Oneofthepack’s repertoire of Techniques / presentations:

· Tandem rig, ¼ oz. round H&H jig head with gold hook, matched up with Matrix Shad Lemon Drop …..Did not try.
AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:
FB2 out to FB5, went to mile maker 174, fished mostly west side of trestles. 7t- caught 2t on east side as we trolled in. Stopped fishing around 4:10 came in.
OUR REWARDS:
· Lived to fish another day.
· (8) (NMR) Big girls, Silverwonders
· Lost (4) big girls, strong west wind & strong falling tide, when we would get the strike & hook up, both wind & tide would push fish & Bay Flat Jr. into trestles and we would get hung up and lose them Took awhile to figure out what we had to do 1o get the big girls in, see lessons learn for that info.
· (1) Redwarrior
· (1) big blue cat
· Hung up on pilings, (string falling tide) (11) times, popped line and lost rig 5 times.
· Loons, Loons, Loons out and about this be a real good sign, our motto, “Find the Loons, find the Silverwonders.”
· Got a late start, left The Pointe at 10:40 AM
· Yamaha Nightmare Machine started with 2 pulls, now that be a good sign.
· A little higher, (mph) winds then we expected.
· Had the whole trestles to ourselves for the first 2-3 trolls.
· Around 11:50 wind died down, and boast came our counted 19-20 along trestles.
· We had a lot of tackle & gear trouble at first, that is what me get for not working on rigs before we had the opportunity to go out.
· Relaxing day on Lake P
· Lessons learned:
§ Predicted winds were a little off, but it laid down for a while and picked back up, not bad for this trip.
§ Strong west wind is not too good for how we like to troll trestles.
§ The combination of strong west wind & strong falling tide really not good for how we like to troll.
§ What we had to do when we got strike & hook up to keep fish from getting in pilings and cause us to lose fish and/or pop line. Once we got strike we had to turn immediately west and head out away from trestle and drag fish way from trestles to get them in.
§ LOONS!!!!!!!! Are out and about, very good sign this be, Find the Loons find the fish!!!!!!!
§ Me Lake P Troll rigs need some TLC, one reel fell apart in m hind while reeling in, old line kept popping, and trailers mixed colors where they bleed into each other. Need about (90) minutes to get all in top shape.
§ Need to make sure me bring all me trolling rigs, (only brought 3) cause when one pops me can exchange for other quickly without having to re-rig, when you in action time is everything.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Big Rudy dominated the Redwarrior division, missed the biggest girl of the day trying to whip her in, and reeled in most of me Silverwonders, but efforts feel short for honors today.
Oneofthepack was in his elements, Lake p Troll working well for me, me take honors today, Bug Rudy lets me have an honor or two over the 1 ½ years we been fishing together.
SUGGESTIONS:
Loons are out & about, along with the big girls, Lake P Troll technique / presentation should be a go to try for big girls, suggest troll from north to south on west side of trestles.
Google Oneofthepack Lake P Troll Rig to see how we rig them up, and goggle Lake P troll how to do for boat position, amount line out, fish incoming & falling tide, might help in your quest for the BIG girls.
Warch the winds, Lake P can get rough quickly, stay safe.
Just do it.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
Fisherpersons who demonstrated excellent fishing acumen in catching hardly never fail in their objective / efforts!!!!l."
Q&A:
How do you turn your mood around when you’re not catching & down?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
