This project might just be the end of Lake P as we know it. With river water set to pour in from all directions, one has to wonder—why not just leave the spillway open and save $300 million?

We can only hope that DOGE takes a hard look at this hefty price tag and truly evaluates whether this project is needed and worth it. Is this the best course of action for the lake, its ecosystem, and the countless anglers who rely on it?

Time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—change is coming.
