TEAM JO-JO:
Team Jo-Jo’s Oneofthepack, Big Rudy, and Big Ronnie had been holding off on planning any trips for later this week due to unpredictable weather and high winds. But after monitoring the conditions closely, Thursday's wind forecast in Slidell showed practically nothing—an enticing calm before what could be a perfect day for fishing. As the day progressed, with me running around handling errands and getting things done, the urge to be out on the water became too strong to ignore. I couldn’t take it any longer and decided to give Big Rudy a call.
We talked about the wind conditions, debating if we should make the trip down to our Disney World—Delacroix Island—where the fish and adventure await. Before we knew it, the excitement had gotten the best of us, and we found ourselves planning a last-minute trip for Friday (today). Of course, with Team Jo-Jo, it’s never just a spur-of-the-moment decision—it’s a calling.
Knowing that our core trio would be incomplete without Big Ronnie, I asked Big Rudy to give him a ring and see if he was up for joining us on this adventurous outing. Not surprisingly, Big Ronnie was all in. His quick “yessum” response sealed the deal, and just like that, we had a full crew ready for another memorable trip down to Delacroix Island.
The three of us, a seasoned team, are heading out to face the challenge that today’s conditions bring. It’s not just another fishing trip—this is a calculated effort to make the most of the window of opportunity nature has given us. With our hearts set on the Silverwonders and Redwarriors lurking in those waters, we’re geared up for another day of exploration and excitement.
Disney World may be magical, but for us, Delacroix Island is where the real wonder happens, and today, we’re ready to write another chapter in Team Jo-Jo’s future.

· Find current lines to fish
· Bring home some fishes for crew
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (This criterion was one of our major challenge for today, we had a number of spot #’s with wind at our back, but fishes where not at home, at least for us.)
2 MOVING WATER: (Another challenge, it was moving way to fast, and the current combine with wind had us doing 2.5 mph while trying Oak River Troll technique.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (This criteria too, was another challenge for us, clarity all over a 1 plus on a scale of 1-7, not good this be.)
4 HOLDING FISH: (Team Jo-Jo spot # 58 on map)
5 PATIENCES: (At honey hole at 6:55, 7:21 Big Rudy brings in a (NMR), it was a slow day, not much action, but we had all NMRs in box)
6 SKILL: (Popping cork technique / presentation)
7 LUCK: (No getting skunked)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:
Team Jo-Jo’s Spots # 57A (1)t, LC5, 59B, 59, 57, 58 (4)t, 43, 43A, 46, 7, 8, 5, 15B, 14, 2A, 21, stopped fishing around 11:48, was not looking forward to the run across Little Lake.
OUR REWARDS:
· Lived to fish another day
· (5) NMR Silverwonders
· (1) Redwarrior, BULL type
· (2) Extra poles
· (1) rig lined popped casting
· (3) missed hits with corks
· (1/4) bushel of grass
· Great peanut butter & jelly sandwich, thanks Big Ron me needed that
· Lots of cool fresh dry air in our lungs
· Be on the water with (2) of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Rudy & Big Ronnie
· Lessons learned:
§ Its jumpsuit type weather, need to make sure me bring mind next time out, this mistake will not happen again
§ High (N.E. 22-24 mph) winds tough on the fishing & more importantly catching
§ Water dirty all over clarity a 1 + on a scale of 1-7, not good
§ Butterfly trawlers out in full force, seen 20-30 of them working the bayous
§ Bayou Terre Aux Boeufs had 6 boats working the bayou from Bayou Gentilly to Bayou Lery, all of them pushing against current, i.e.. Falling tide, shrimp must be all over the place.
§ Popping cork technique / presentation still the operative for catching, tight line still getting no action for us.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Oneofthepack was one away from bring skunked, me was so happy to catch one NMR for the day, fished hard but just could not make it happen. Me efforts where notable, but not enough for honors today.
Big Ronnie got a late start, but he managed (1) NMR, plus he hooked & ,landed fish of the day a BULL Redwarrior, got extra point for bring peanut & butter sandwiches, but he to fell a little short for honors today.
Big Rudy caught 1st fish, second fish, and added another to his credit, all be (NMR) type Silverwonders, this effort put him at the top of the catching and made him Fisherperson of the day.
SUGGESTIONS:
Might want to give a little time for water to clean up some before making trip to Delacroix, and don’t fish the areas we mention in Areas/Spots/Numbers we fished.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
When we be fishing, the only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture into a little way past them into the impossible
Q&A:
Where’s your fishing life headed?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
Monday & Wednesday back down to Delacroix in search of the elusive (NMR) Silverwonders & Redwarriors, me crew Big Rudy & Big Ronnie. Big Don soon to come off IR and be back on the water with Team Jo-Jo.
Good Fishing
