Fun journey Lake P outing

TEAM JO-JO:

Trip Report Log – Monday Fishing Fever (7-21-2025)Crew:🎣 Captain Oneofthepack🧢 First Mate Big William (Grandsonoftehpack)🐟 Second Mate Big Kenny

How it Started:It all began with a Sunday night phone call…Big William: “Pawpaw, where can we get some dead shrimp?”Oneofthepack: “Kenny’s Seafood!”Oneofthepack “You wanna hit Lake P in the morning?”Big William: “Yessum – mates in hand, trip be on, on, ON!!!”

Mission Objectives:

  • Teach Grandsonoftehpack and Big Kenny a few Oneofthepack techniques!

  • Introduce them to Lake P magic!

  • Find Silverwonders and/or Redwarriors!

  • Build memories stronger than a tug on a tight line!

Pre-Trip Intel:

  • Bait: Dead shrimp ✅

  • Conditions: Perfect it be

  • Launch Site: Lake P Southshore Hwy 11

  • Tackle: Dead shrimp, mounted on a ¼ oz. jig head.

Expectations:

  • Action near trestles or reef zones

  • Early morning bite best

  • Hopefully some schooling Silverwonders for the young'un to tangle with

  • Redwarrior bonus round if y’all explore the shallows near Southshore side of trestles.

Let me know how y’all did:

  • 🐟 Fish count?

  • 🎣 Techniques used?

  • 💦 Water conditions?

  • 💬 Best quote from the trip?

  • 📸 Pics of Big William’s catch (for the brag board)?

Glad to see the torch being passed – the next generation aboard the Bay Flat  Jr learning from Oneofthepack himself. That’s a legacy written in salt, shrimp, and Silverwonders!

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived too fish another day.

·         (1) Redwarrior

·         (7) Croaker

·         (1) White trout

·         (2) Sting rays

·         (3) Fresh water cats

·         (24) Hardheads

·         Being on the water with 2 of the best fisherpersons me know, they be Big Kenny & Big William.

·         Easy relaxing trip with Grandsonoftehpack and his friend Big Kenny

·         Ran out of shrimp, all 3#’s of it, cut up croakers for bait and started with sting rays, and catfish.

·         Greta lunch

·         Lessons learned:

§  Need to buy tackle to fish Carolina rig, hooks, sliding sinkers & swivels, me had none, they had none.

§  Jig head and dead shrimp worked for us today.

§  Need to buy more dead shrimp, 3# did not last us long!

§  Make a fishing trip competitive is fun, we were tied up at 12 apiece.

§  Fishing under twin span was nice like A/C with wind blowing under it and on us.

§  Fishing with dead shrimp was fun and even cut crokers for bait worked well too.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
