TEAM JO-JO:
Sunday Funday: Fishing Over Work Any Day!
Sunday—no work, just fishing! The absolute best day of the week, hands down. With that in mind, me knew it was time to hit the water. But every good fishing mission needs a trusty first mate, so who better to call than Big Rudy—always ready to roll at a moment’s notice!
Big Ron, unfortunately, had other commitments, so this one was going to be a duo adventure. Just me and Big Rudy, setting off aboard the Bay Flat Sr, heading to our Disney World of fishing—Delacroix Island.
The goal? Find the elusive Silverwonders & Redwarriors and put a few in the box. The conditions looked right, the anticipation was high, and the plan was set. Would today be the day we cracked the code and found them stacked up?
Only one way to find out—lines in, let the hunt begin! 🎣🔥

· Start our Team jo-Jo spot # 51K work our way to spot #R7
· Bring some fishes for dinner
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (No doubt this criterion was our challenge for today, made it hard to try and set up on bites, but it did help push us around casting as we drifted across lakes & ponds, only thing that could have been better if wind had a spot lock feature with it.
2 MOVING WATER: (Me don’t think water moving that much if any, wind had it moving some, no low tide today all high, this criterion was a challenge too.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (Not bad, Lake John 3 minus, Lake Amedee a 3, Grand Lagoon a 4 plus, all very fishable & catchable .)
4 HOLDING FISH: (Lake John, spots 51C, Lake Amedee, and spot R&, R7A)
5 PATIENCES: (Took about 20 cast in Lake John before the first NMR came in, slow but steady action, most action took place under birds in Lake Amedee)
6 SKILL: (Popping corks, 24-40” deep)
7 LUCKS: (No get wet, no rain, lived too fish another day)
· Oneofthepack’s repertoire of Techniques / presentations:

· Lessons learned:
§ Water clarity is still a challenge
§ (4) flocks of birds in Lake Amedee, only 1 flock diving, we set up on them, but it was a nursery, caught 13 kept 4.
§ Saw shrimp jumping I Lake Amedee
§ Sweetwater had (3) tanks full of live shrimp
§ The Lionels closed on Sunday, don’t know if just for today or what, had to go to Sweetwater to get some go for juice.
§ Had, to use our windsock today, i.e. (2) S.S. steel Cajun anchors dragging behind Bay Flat Sr to slow us down so we could pop corks across lagoon. Wind pushing us 2-3 mph, windsock had us doing .6 mph.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Who else Big Rudy, he be a catching machine, even I slow period he kept us going in the right direction.
Oneofthepack was just Oneofthepack, not Leaderofthepack, nor Backofthepack, just Oneofthepack.
SUGGESTIONS:
We saw our first sing on shrimp down in Delacroix, birds working them in Lake Amedee, had 4-5 flocks of them, but only one flock diving on them others just sitting on top of water.
“Fish the birds)
PONDER OF THE DAY:
"I love people who make me forget my troubles. I love fishing because it's one of those things you can do alone or with someone, and either way, it's delightful."
Q&A:
What one fishing day do you wish you could re-live from your past?
