Today's Journey – A Change of Scenery
With the itch to explore new waters and escape the hustle and bustle of the MRGO—where the competition for those not-so-elusive (NMR) Silverwonders was heating up—we set our sights on a different adventure. Destination: Delacroix Island, our very own Disney World of fishing.
First mate Big Rudy was all in on the strategy. No hesitation, no second thoughts—just pure excitement for the day ahead. The plan was simple: run and gun, covering ground aboard the Bay Flat Sr, letting the Yamaha Dream Machine purr as we navigated our way through one of Team Jo-Jo's prime fishing spots numbers, one of 101 spot numbers.
With rods rigged, spirits high, and anticipation bubbling like a boiling pot of crawfish, we were set for a day that had all the makings of something special. Would Delacroix deliver? Only time—and the pull of a Silverwonder—would tell.
SIGNS:
· Had a great weekend all be it slow \with weather at hand.
· Good night sleep\Up at 3:45 AM for 4:30 AM meet up at Waffle House ibn Oak Harbor
· Me was early so me got me a bowl of grits and some coffee at Waffle House as me wait for Big Rudy
· Big Rudy right on time
· Loaded up his gear and we on our way.
· No wildlife sightings along Hwy 11 or 90
· Check point Alpha water level in canal at junction down 4-6”
· Check point Bravo, water falling hard in Reggio canal.
· Saw this big Hugh black thing trying to cross Hay missed him by a noise, don’t know what it was, but it was not a Nurture or a Pig.
· Made to the home of the Bay Flat Sr, she swayed in the wind looking so pretty.
· We made short work of loading up Bay Flat Sr
· Yamaha Dream Machine was still warm from our last tip up, she fired up with ½ turn of key.
· Made at stop at Lionel’s for go juice, Big William gave us the word, “FISH BITING” he gave us the intel we needed. If you go , see William and ask him about the area where fish be stacked up.

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Blow it did, but we used it to our advantage, it was a perfect direction to push us across Lake John, as we cast & popped our way across. We drug to Cajun anchors to slow us down some.
2 MOVING WATER: (Rising all day got stronger as morning went along)
3 WATER CALRITY: (A 3 minus. Kind of sandy lost lure 3-4” below surface)
4 HOLDING FISH: (Team Jo-Jo spot # 51K 19t. 51J 21t)
5 PATIENCES: (Second cast Big Rudy brings in a NMR, cast,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 & 12 Big Rudy kept bring them in, lots of action I started after his 12th fish on board.)

· Lessons learned:
§ Delacroix still has it, and its only going to get better, all the way to mid-June.
§ Bay Flat Sr & Yamaha Dream Machine responding well to her 1100-hour service.
§ Big Rudy caught first through eleventh Silverwonder before me had one. Aks he you have a problem with 4 horsemen cork, (me on snap on popping cork) no says me just don’t need it. I finally broke down and put one on, BINGO me was in the action, need to use correct cork.
§ Big Rudy using 1/16th oz. jig head, I did not have nay but put on 1 /8 oz. jig head, had some action but not like Big Rudy, I need to buy some more 1/16 and 1/8th oz. jig heads
§ Team Jo-Jo spot # hot Silverwonders stacked up:

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Me humbled once again, Big Rudy caught 1st Silverwonder, biggest Silverwonder, last Silverwonder, most Silverwonders, and managed to dominate the Drum division too. What can I say Big Rudy a catching machine & fisherperson of the day.
Oneofthepack contributed (12) Silverwonders out of the bunch, but me never gave up kept at it all day watching and filing Big Rudy catching fish.
SUGGESTIONS:
Buy you some Salt Strong Power Prawn with yellow tail, matched them up with 1/16 oz. lead color jig head, fish 36 to 48” deep under a Four Horsemen popping cork> Take heed to this suggestion, don’t do like I did, me with hard head to I switch to Power Pawn rigged like above, that be when me started to catch a few.
