2 MOVING WATER: (Rising all day, and hard it be)

3 WATER CALRITY: (Not as good as me hoped, but a 3 minus not that bad, and the fishes did not seem to mind)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (Spot team Jo-Jo spot # LC-4 on map)

5 PATIENTS: (Needed some at first, but once we hit spot LC-4 it was on, on, on)

6 SKILL: (Popping cork technique / presentation, both with live shrimp and lures)

7 LUCKS: (Crew managed to save some of the live shrimp after box drop, and we do not get wet)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:

Started at spot # 51N on Team Jo-Jo’s map, LC-5 (2)t, all other fish caught at spot LC-4, stopped fishing around 11 am, called it a day to hot even with Bimini top up for me.

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived to fish another day.

·         (31) Silverwonders

·         (4) Bull Redwarriors

·         (14) Gaff tops

·         (13) Hardheads

·         (2) Banna fish

·         (2) Tangled lines

·         (1) Extra poles

·         (2) Popped lines

·         Being on the water with two of the best fisherpersons me know

·         Lots of warm sunshine

·         Nice long boat ride out & in all about total of 34 miles both ways

·         Bimini top, save me day, kept me out of sun or it was going to be a quick strip, got to stay out till around 11 AM in the heat.

·         Shout out to Big Nicky, he helped the OLD man unload the Bay Flat Sr, a very kind jester on his part, plus he does it every time we see each other, thanks man appreciated it,.

·         Lessons learned:

§  Live shrimp was not necessary.

§  When you are carrying your live bait box, make sure handles are good, we dumped all our live shrimp and treated water on highway while loading up Bay Flat Sr, not good at all.

§  Learned what all other out of towners, and newbies that have fished all pass  years with Team Jo-Jo, it is not the fish, (re: species, don’t have to be a trout slam) but the tug of the line and the unknown what be on the hook & line you be reeling in.

§  The excitement / thrill as a popping cork is drifting with current and it is pulled down very violently and disappears in a mini second.

§  Reggio canal did not have any live shrimp, as did not Lionel and/or Sweetwater, suggest you buy at Fisherman’s Friend in Chalmette on your way down.

§  What a true fisherperson / first mate really is, Big Rudy was on, on, on with the fish, he noticed Big Charlie not getting much action, he asked Big Charlei to give him his pole, Big Rudy took the time out to rig Big Charle line the correct way. Big Charlei was on, ono ,no after that kind jester.

§  Crew put the Penn Battel III 1000, matched up with the St Croix 6-foot rods, as we battled the BULL Redwarrieors, these where some of the biggest we face to date.

§  Fish species progress as follows, catfish, both Gaff Tops & Hardheads, after those bites then came in the Silverwonders & Bull Redwarriors.

§  Me was going to start running round, (wanted to find some bulls to play with) but crew as having so much fun we started put, glade we did it was the right move of the day.

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack stayed true to lures, had some fun with the BULLS, Silverwonders, and catfish, however me efforts for today was a little below par, as me was not feeling to good, had to lay me head down for awhile to get back on rack with fishing & catching.

Big Charlie, slow out of the gate, me field to tell him how to rig his rods & reels for areas we be fishing today, our first spot # 51N, water pouring in 3-4 mph, he had a hook with lure on it no weight, catching not going to happing with that rig, told him he need a 3/8 oz. jig head. When it came to fishing with popping corks, he had another rig that was not looking good. Big Rudy stopped fishing, (mean catching)  and rigged Big Charlie line for him. Now Big Charlie on board, Silverwonders, catfish, & even a banana fish was added to his credit, but we could never get him on a BULL for a fun fight. He fell a little short for today’s honors.

Big Rudy was just Big Rudy, dominated Silverwonders divisions, catfish division, and even the BULLS, me think the only species he did not catch was the banana fish. He and his Salt Strong Power Prawn are a effective / action getting results when it comes to catching. Plus, he got so many extra points for him to stop catching and take the time for rig Big Chalie’s rig  where Big Charlie could get in on the catching action, FINS up to Big Rudy for that kind jester. Big Rudy always be fisherperson of the day on & off the water he be that good!

SUGGESTIONS:

If you want live bait, best to stop by Fisherman’s Friend on your way, not sure if anyone down that way will have any.

Take the time to fish through the catfish and et to the species you are looking for, this worked for us today.

Plus believe!!!!!!

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.”

Q&A:

What gets you excited about fishing?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Nothing plan, but hope to get Grandsonoftehpack, (aka Oneofthepack2) out before they go back to school, until then:

Good Fishing
