· Catch what catch can
· Learn what learn can
· Put Big Willam on Redwarrior or two
· See if zone 1 catching any different with Big Pablo & live shrimp on board, last time out Big Rudy attacked same area with lures only.
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind not a factor today, able to fish in any direction, any location without any difficulty.)
2 MOVING WATER: (This criterion was our challenge for the day, tide coming in by the time we got out to spot # 64, needed a falling tide. Rising tide was not strong at all, even in chocked down points and cuts water not moving, did not see any current lines to fish. Me think water at 92.6 F, and not much water moving to have a layer to block the heat from penetrating surface, that, that heat made its way into down water column, put the fishes in a no feeding environment.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (a 3 minus, could see lure down 8-10” but very cloudy the water looked had that brown , sandy , summertime look.
4 HOLDING FISH: (Team Jo-Jo spot # 17 3r)
5 PATIENTS: (Needed some, we just kept moving to trying to cover as much areas as we could before me red button popped out, we stopped around 10:48, it got to hot and me was getting dizzy. Me was ready at 9 am, put top up got us another hour so to fish.)
6 SKILL: (live shrimp technique / presentation)
7 LUCK: (Caught a few before heat took over us)

· Lessons learned:
§ Big Willams favorite part of a fishing trip, is breakfast at Waffle House, he asked if we are having breakfast, told him we would have to get up real early, no problem say he, that be me favorite part of our trip, hence we up at 2:45 AM. I think we both got 2 ½ hours’ sleep!!!!!
§ Having live and dead shrimp did make some difference but not much
§ Spot # 64 a falling tide spot especially in summertime
§ Check me post from 2021, 2022, & 2023, based on that intel, for July we should be fishing Team Jo-Jo spots 57, 57A, LC-4, LC-5, and 59B on the map, but water clarity not looking good on these areas. But next time out we will fish them and see if e can get in the BIG boy’s locker room.
§ Will have to rig up a tandem rig, as that what we were using in years mention above to catch what catch can
§ Old timer & heat of day do not go together, never bothered me in me younger years, looked forward to it.
§ Early to catch, early to come in, me think 9 AM will be me limit in future.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Oneofthepack stayed true to lures, missed a good Oak River Troll hit, hit and popped line, had a few small bites, but bite f the day for me was at spot # 21. I was just gong through the motions of casting and retrieving, when about 6 feet from boat, rod exploded in me hand, and the fight was on. Me think was more surprised then the Redwarrior was, all 17 ½” of him, me joyed the fight and return him to the water for future fights.
Big William, (aka Oneofthepack2) had his way with catfish, 9Gaff tops, hardheads, & freshwater cat) lead the crab division, and dominated the croaker category, but what really did it for him was he hooked up tot eh biggest fish of the day. Fishing Team Jo-Jo spot # 25, in about 2 feet of water with a dead shrimp tight line. The water erupted big time (like an Alligator turning quick along shoreline) Big William set the hook and line started to peel off, and just as quick it went slack, Big William thought he lost it. He continued to reel in slowly looking down, then suddenly fish took off again, peeling line off, pole double over big boy heading south. Unfortunately, Big Willim behind boat, fish ran over anchor, (did not get anchor) and kept going, but Big William angel on him not good, as we tried to work his rod around straps from top, extra fishing poles, line popped. But before it did, both Big Pablo & Big William said fish jump out of the water behind me, but I did not get a chance to see it before it got off. Me think this action made Big Willams day for sure!!!
Big Pablo be catching everything in the water, dominated Redwarrior division, had his encounter with catfish, sting ray, croaker, crab, and even had 1-2 extra pole encounters, Big Pablo be fisherperson of the day .
SUGGESTIONS:
Have not figured out this summertime fishing techniques / presentations, more so the areas to fish, but suggest “You got to go to know”
Best to have some live and/or dead bait on hand.
Also suggest you get 20 small croakers from Lionel’s try them for the Redwarriors, I will next time out, me think they will eat that up.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
When fishing we first make our habits, and then our habits make us.
Q&A:
What’s the weirdest fishing tackle thing you’ve found lying on the ground / side of the road?
What is you summertime tactic, strategy, technique, and presentation for caching?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
Nothing plan, don’t plan to plan a trip soon, if so will combine trip with a heavy overcast day to keep the heat of us, until then.
Good Fishing
Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack
