TEAM JO-JO:
🎣 Friday Skip & Saturday Prep Report – Team Jo-Jo StyleAfter Thursday's Causeway journey left the tank running a bit low, a Friday trip was wisely skipped for some much-needed recuperation. But the Redwarrior itch doesn’t wait long…
✅ Text Sent to Big Don – a sure-fire first mate when available. But alas!Big Don reply: "No can do – new addition to deal with."(Me?? A baby? A boat upgrade? A four-legged family member?? The mystery thickens…)
⛔ Sr. First Mate OutNo time wasted — the outreach grid kicks in!
✅ Next up: Big Rudy – He be IN like always, asking the critical:"Got a third deck hand?"
❌ “No,” says you…✅ “Yes,” says fate — enter Big Mark, the final piece to complete the Saturday Morning Redwarrior Recon Unit.
🎯 Target: Delacroix Island, Spot #21🎣 Mission: Determine if the Redwarriors have returned to their favorite battleground.🌅 ETA: Early light, prime time for a tight-line or cork pop.
Looking forward to the full report on whether the Redwarriors answered the roll call, or if they’re still holding out for September reinforcements. Tight lines and cool breezes your way!

§ All that Delacroix has to offer
§ Bay Flat Sr
§ Team Jo-Jo’s repertoire of techniques / presentations
§ Team Jo-Jo spot numbers
§ Team Jo-Jo’s zones 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5
§ Team Jo-Jo’s repertoire of lures
§ Catching Redwarriors
· See if Redwarriors be at Team Jo-Jo spot # 21
· Verify other spot numbers in Team Jo-Jo zone # 2, for catching activity
· Bring some fish for Big Mark
· Find a spot # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:
1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind not a factor, with (2) Cajun anchors out we could position boat on any angel to wind to allow us to tight line bottom.)
2 MOVING WATER: (Tail end of falling start of rising, perfect it be. North wind was fighting incoming water , but that only made the fish more active.)
3 WATER CALRITY: (Our challenge for the day, and my kryptonite, dirty water not my thing, but we fished through it and caught a few.)
4 HOLDING FISH: (Spot # 6, bait, (mullet, shiners, shrimp) was poring through around the corner tight to land, they were laying right under boat, right at / under the boat. Had to throw up current let lure to bottom, work back to boat bounce it along bottom, feel the tap set the hook))
5 PATIENCES: (In spot 21 t &;30, at 7:06 Bring Mark brings in one of his Redwarriors for the day, slow after that , me not feeling it we moved on to other spots in Team Jo-Jo zone 2.)
6 SKILL: (Tight ling lures along bottom, along with tight lining jig head with fresh dead shrimp on it, be Big Mark specialty)
7 LUCKS: (Rainstorms all around us, but we do not get wet, caught our fish early, came in early around 9:30 AM, did not want to tempt mother nature to much regarding lighting and rain)

Team Jo-Jo’s zone 2, spot # 21 (1r), 22, 23, 6 (8r), stopped fishing at 9;30 came in, mother nature got an emergency call to one of the crew and he had TO GO, ran to Sweetwater for relief, decided to just go home after this calling..

· Being on the water with 2 of the best fisherpersons me know Big Rudy & Big Mark
· Lessons learned:
§ Lionels did not have any dead or live shrimp, made a stop at Sweetwater for dead shrimp.
§ Water dirty at spot # 21, a 2 plus, not feeling it we moved on
§ Water clarity in general bad all over
§ Not many boats are out for Saturday doing in Delacroix.
§ Landlubbers all over the place, word is main bayou full of puppy drums, I only saw one catfish caught.
§ Blessing of the fleet today
§ I tried to buy dead shrimp at Reggio canal, but they only had live, they cannot drop net until August 11th I thin, but for now throwing cast net for live shrimp.
§ Big Nicky will be putting his BF nest on his boat ad will try the white shrimp season, seems shrimp value going up getting better prices then with crabs.
· Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Big Rudy took awhile to get on the board, he be concentrating on helping Big Mark out with his action, managed a few Redwarriors, catfish and even a croaker, brought the snickers bars but this task too feels a little short for the honors today.
Oneofthepack was just Oneofthepack, casting, fishing, bouncing lures along bottom trying to find the right spot for the right fish, felt the tap, set the hook, but it was all over after that. Me gave it my so/so effort, but not enough for honors today.
Big Mark caught first Redwarrioe, biggest Redwarrior, most Redwarriors, dominated croaker, Gaff top, hard heads & freshwater catfish, Big Mark was on a roll, his efforts resulted in him taking the honors today, Big Mark fisherperson of the day.
SUGGESTIONS:
Delacroix shows some progression to fall fishing, need about (6) more weeks and it should be on, on, on, on, on, on, on, on, on, on in all of Team Jo-Jo zones 1,2,3,4, & 5.
Looking forward to 57* F water temps!!!!!!!!!!!
But for now “you got to go to know” suggest you bring some fresh dead shrimp to keep the action going
PONDER OF THE DAY:
"Fishing: My kind of social distancing
Q&A:
How do you turn your fishing mood around when you’re feeling down?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
🔥 Hottamlesofthepack Monday is ON! 🔥Gearing up for our Monday night card game with a fresh batch of 22 dozen homemade hot tamales—because if you're gonna play cards, might as well play with full bellies and fiery fingers! 🌶️♠️💥
🎣 No fishing plans for the week—YET—but me plan to change that quick. The pull of the water is getting stronger by the hour, and the Bay Flat Sr and/or Bay Flat Jr don’t like sitting still too long...
🧭 Potential strike zones:
🔹 Causeway for the BIG BOYS – Might make a drop for those deep dwellers hanging tight to the pilings. They don’t hit often, but when they do… hold on tight.
🔹 Trestles for the BIG GIRLS – If conditions line up (light wind, clean water, moving tide), we might break out the Lake P Troll and let those Silverwonders find us.
🔹 Delacroix, Team Jo-Jo Zone 2 – Still dreaming about that last haul of Redwarriors. Got unfinished business down there… and a few spots left untested that just feel right.
🧂 Until then... it's all about tamales, cards, good laughs, and keeping one eye on the tides and one hand on the throttle. 🎲🎣🌊
Good Fishing
