TEAM JO-JO:
First mate Big Ronnie had his son, Big Mike, coming to town, and we planned a fishing trip on the Bay Flat Sr out of Delacroix. Due to various commitments and schedules, we had two days to work with, March 26th or 27th. After considering the weather forecast, we decided that March 26th looked like the better option with more favorable conditions.
Unfortunately, their initial plans for a trip on Monday had to be canceled due to high winds, which added a bit more pressure to have a successful outing today. We're hoping that the weather holds up, and we're looking forward to a great fishing adventure with Big Ronnie and Big Mike on board.Top of Form

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind was not going to be controlled today, no way, BUT!!!! We used it to our advantage to drift and pop corks all day)
2 MOVING WATER: (Pouring out at first, went slack, then start to come in, perfect it be, wind had a lot to do with direction of tide / water flow)
3 WATER CALRITY: (First spot a 1, second spot a 1, changed zip code, this spot a 4 plus, nice it be, got better as morning went along)
4 HOLDING FISH: (Team Jo-Jo sot # R7 & R9)
5 PATIENTS: (Arrived in spot 51N at 7:15 AM, did not catch a fish until 9:03 AM, then slow, then turned on for a little while, no patients need today as we all be believers, and had not made a trip in a long time.)
6 SKILL: (Popping corks, with some added live shrimp)
7 LUCK: (Weather changed to our benefit, “You got to go to know” and more important believe!!!)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:
Team Jo-Jo spot # 51N, 51I, R7 (10)t, R7A, B (4)T, C, R7 (13)t, stopped fishing round 2:20 pm, turned Bay Fla Sr south for a nice easy ride back to home port.
OUR REWARDS:
OUR REWARDS:
• Lived to fish another day
• (23) Silverwonders, 13 Miniwonders
• (4) NMR’s missed at boat
• (1) NMR popped Big Ron’s line at boat
• (1) Redwarrior, BULL it be
• (1) Flounder
· (1) Sheepshead
• (1) Croaker
• (3) bottoms, (1) Popped line
• Great peanut butter & jelly sandwich, along with some good snacks, thanks to Petite Gloria, thanks lade me needed that
. • Being on the water with (2) of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Ron & Big Mike.
• Lessons learned:
§ Lake John & surrounding areas water clarity is filthy, very dirty, a 1 on a scale of 1-7. This being noted we headed way north in search for cleaner water.
§ Spots # R7, 8, 9, & 10 holding some BIG NMR’s, not many but they be there § Spots mention above a water clarity of 4 plus
§ Live shrimp was a must today
§ Sweet water has live shrimp, Big Ron picked up (50) for the day
§ Team Jo-Jo’s philosophy, “You got to go to know” was never more evident than today. Me think 99.99% of fisherpersons would have never left the dock looking at 20-25 mph N.N.E. wind, black heavy clouds all over the place, light rain, lighting strikes every now and then. Then winds laid down a little, clouds went away, and Ms. Sunshine came out to warm us, it was a perfect day for fishing and some catching.
• Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:
Oneofthepack was one fish away from being skunked, me was so happy to catch a cigar Silverwonder using Team Jo-Jo’s (ORS) technique / presentation, me sure did not want to get skunked. Did manage to hook two on (ORT) and one tight lining, but managed to miss both at boat, but both be a good sign that those technique can work.
Big Ronnie got on a roll with live shrimp, put (4) real nice NMR’s in box tight lining lures tipped with lie shrimp on them, along with a Flounder, and his cork popping technique / presentation was working well to. But it was hard to make the call today, even thou Big Ron got extra points for bring Petite Gloria gourmet peanut butter & jelly sandwiches out for all to eat, it was just a hard call today for honors today.
Big Mike me thought he nailed honors with his Big BULL Redwarrior, managed to master the cork popping technique / presentation, had a species run with Silverwodners, Redwarrior, sheepshead, and croaker, however it was going to be a close call.
As the captain for the day me made the call, one more drift who ever catches the most fish on this drift be fisherperson of the day, just like the day it was a close call. Big Mike edged his dad out by one Silverwonder, Big Mike fisherperson of the day, and see video for details.
SUGGESTIONS:
Plenty opportunity down in Delacroix, find clean water find fish, and don’t live dock without some live shrimp, get plenty you don’t want to run short.
PONDER OF THE DAY:
"Whether me caught fish or not, just the thrill of casting out that line and watching my cork pop turn over and disappear has been good enough for me. That and the hundreds of treasured memories me have of this wonderful sport."
Q&A:
What’s your go-to fishing lure?
TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:
Nothing plan, me just going to take it easy for a while, relax, and watch TV & video of others catching fish. wore me out today,
Good Fishing
