Big Ronnie & Big Rudy Delacroix Way

TEAM JO-JO:

At the FINK family reunion, a thrilling fishing expedition was meticulously planned, (Big Don to be on next journey) by the seasoned anglers Oneofthepack, Big Ronnie, and Big Rudy. With a shared passion for exploration and a quest for new fishing grounds, they embarked on a mission that blended the excitement of fishing with the thrill of discovery. Their destination: the enchanting Delacroix Islands, a haven known for its abundant marine life and untouched beauty.

Equipped with the reliable Bay Flat Sr and powered by the trusty Yamaha Dream Machine, the trio set out to conquer the intricate waterways and winding marshes that define Delacroix. Their journey was not just about catching fish; it was about unraveling the secrets of this pristine paradise, marking potential spots for future angling endeavors.

As they navigated through the labyrinthine channels, they kept a keen eye on their Team Jo-Jo spot numbers, each representing a promising fishing location teeming with possibilities. The Yamaha Dream Machine hummed with power as they glided through the serene waters, eager to explore every nook and cranny of Delacroix's fishing grounds.

Amidst the backdrop of picturesque landscapes and the soothing sounds of nature, Oneofthepack, Big Ronnie, and Big Rudy indulged in the art of angling, casting their lines into the crystal-clear waters in search of prized catches. Every strike of the reel echoed with anticipation, adding to the excitement of the adventure.

Their journey was not just about the fish they would catch but also about the memories they would create and the bonds they would strengthen. It was a true celebration of camaraderie, exploration, and the timeless joy of fishing in uncharted waters.

·         Bring home some fish for Team Jo-Jo’s ladies

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (This criteria was not a factor, plus it helped us drift across bay, picked speed as the day went along got up to 12-14 MPH S.S.E.)

2 MOVING WATER: (Looked to be falling all day, not sure)

3 WATER CALRITY: (Looked to be a 6 plus, fresh, clean, clear, dark looking water just the way me like it)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (Team Jo-Jo post # R7C with popping corks)

5 PATIENTS: (It took a while for Big Ronnie to catch our first fish, and it was a slow day, we did have a crazy 5 minutes at spot # R7C, just enough action to keep us interested. This be way we never made over to spot # 57 in Four Horse, that and the 12-14- mph S.S.E wind, it would have been a real bumpy ride for sure.)

6 SKILL: (Popping cork technique / presentation)

7 LUCK: (No get wet, you could feel the rain / wet in the air, but we had no rain at all)

·      Oneofthepack’s repertoire of Techniques / presentations:

§  Exploration of new area proved to be a no go, water to low in area, depth finder on blink, did not want to chance getting stuck in mud, but area looked real good on map.

§  Fuel consumption for Yamaha Dream Machine very good  at 3800 RPM

§  Team Jo-Jo spot # R7 off today, not much action

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Big Ronnie drew first blood, fished with live shrimp, dominated cat fish division, had a few Miniwonders, switched to the Holly Molly, and got in some action. Even with the extra point for bring peanut butter & jelly sandwich he fall a little short for today’s honors.

Big Rudy got on a roll fishing under the ass of (2 Seagulls, and was on a crazy 5 minute of action, but Big Ronnie indicated we in wrong position to bites and suggested we move, not my suggestion, but Big Rudy had no objections so we motored over a few feet, and guess what that was the end of Big Rudy crazy 5 minutes. Big Rudy was on a few the rest of the day but no more crazy time had he. Big Rudy efforts for the day was memorable, but not enough to capture honors today.

Oneofthepack was very slow out of the gate, took may be 1 to 2 hours before me caught a fish, but when we hit spot # 7C, me knew where they would be and how they wanted it. Me positon Bay Flat Sr to the best angle to fish and present the popping cork, did not take lone before me had a nice NMR on board, then me had me crazy 5 minutes. We would move away then come back to spot # R7C, and me would catch one or two more. It was agreed Oneofthepack captured the honors today, not many chances me get to get the honors when Big Rudy on board so me going to take this one with pleasure.

SUGGESTIONS:

Heard a lot of reports about 4 horse, from various fisherpersons, so we going to confirm same Wednesday, it be that time of year, pus “You got to go to know”

PONDER OF THE DAY:

“When it comes to fishing & learning, it is like they say, you can learn more from a guide in one day than you can in three months fishing alone.”

Come on out to Team Jo-Jo Fishing Curriculum Session # 4 11 AM, (Saturday 4-20-24) at Fatty’s Seafood on Gause Blvd in Slidell and escalate your leaning curve in one morning, with our crew of vintage fisherpersons. Like Rocky & Carlos, ladies welcome.

Q&A:

Did you ever have an imaginary fishing friend?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Another journey to our Disney World known as Delacroix Island Thursday, Big Don & Big Charlie will be on board the Bay Flat Sr as we make our way out to Four Horse areas to confirm all the great reports we have been getting o ha area. In reviewing / checking Team J-Jo diary April, May and mid-June (4) horse area should be on, on, on in that area & surrounding areas.

Until then:

Good Fishing

Team Jo-Jo & Oneofthepack
