·         Put some run time on the Bay Flat Jr and the Yamaha Nightmare Machine

·         Gather Intel for future trips, and to share with fisherperson, (on Facebook) to help assist them in their choice of areas to fish, lures to use and presentation of same to the elusive Silverwonders.

·         Catch what catch can

·         Learn what learn can

·         Have a repeat trip with Big Charlie

·         Bring home some fish for Big Charlie & family

·         Do some scouting to see if Silverwonders anywhere else

·         Find a spot  # with the seven fundamentals / criteria of catching:

1 WIND AT YOUR BACK: (Wind not a factor today, it helped us do the Oak River Troll

2 MOVING WATER: (Falling all day, plus tug boat screws had the water moving very fast along shoreline)

3 WATER CALRITY: (A 4 not looking to go, even where back up in Michaud Slip it was a 4 looking water)

4 HOLDING FISH:  (ICW, ICW Buoy # 2 & Michaud Slip)

5 PATIENTS: (First cast Silverwonder, then it took the rest of the day to make our catch, slow day, got some quick action at Buoy # 2 in ICW)

6 SKILL: (Combination Oak River Troll & Drop Shot rig)

7 LUCK: (Had Big Charlie on board to catch all the fish)

AREAS / SPOTS / NUMBERS ON THE MAP FISHED:

ICW (12) T, Bout # 2 3t, Michaud Slip (2) t, stopped fishing around 12:20

OUR REWARDS:

·         Lived to fish another day

·         (17) Silverwonders, 14 Miniwonders

·         (1) Whitewonder

·         (5) Bass

·         (3) Stripe Bass

·         Lost me first drop shot rig, got hung up on bottom

·         Great snacks & drinks as provided by Big Charlie, thanks man me needed that

·         Being on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know, that be Big Charlie

·         Lots of fresh, clean, dry air in our lungs

·         Lessons learned:

§  Having tug boat in your spot , makes for not catching to good

§  Birds in air means fish under water in 35 feet of water at that

§  Big Charlie introduced me to another lure, brown body, with a yellow curly tail, got him some nice fish.

§  Buoy # 2 at Michaud Slip has bass & stripe bass all over it we hit a school of them, along with some Silverwonders

§  Michaud Slip in back 30-35’ water has some Silverwonders in it, they like the combination Oak River Troll & Drop Shot rig.

§  Nothing but BOATS at ICW locks, not even a bite for us

§  Gathered some intel / info for future trips at:

·         ICW

·         Michaud slip

·          Hot Water slip

·         Bayou Bienvenue locks

·         Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.

FISHERPERSON OF THE DAY:

Oneofthepack dominated Bass, Stripe Bass, but only managed (4) Silverwodners, this effort not enough to capture honors today.

Big Charlie dominated the Silverwonders with his top secrets lure, me could just keep up with him, Big Charlie fisherperson of the day.

Team Jo-Jo’s R&R crew, Me would assume that Big Rudy be fisherperson of the day on Big Ronnie & Big Rudy Tuesday see pictures.

·         (12) NMR) Silverwonders

·         (1) Redwarrior

·         (7) Bass

SUGGESTIONS:

ICW winding down, will have to find BIG girls someplace else, only way to do this is, “You got to go to know”

PONDER OF THE DAY:

"People who fish for food, and sport be damned, are called pot-fishermen. The more expert ones are called crack pot-fishermen. All other fishermen are called crackpot fishermen. This is confusing

Q&A:

If you could only use one lure for the rest of your life, what would it be?

TEAM JO-JO’S future stratagem:

Friday journey with Big Jimmy, where in question, need to review diary and see what was hot for past (10) years, may be pursue that info, until then:

Good Fishing
